Jackie Reuss, age 81 of Albany, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2022. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 29 in the Aztec Theater Reception Room with James Breeden officiating. Services have been entrusted to Morehart Mortuary.

Jackie Lee Quaid was born March 7, 1941 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Jack Quaid and Letha Pope Quaid. She was adopted by Earn and Mable Jones as a young child. Jackie grew up and graduated from high school in Oklahoma.

On March 25, 1961, she married Dwain Dean Reuss in Waggoner County, Oklahoma. Jackie went to nursing school and in 1964 earned her LVN. She began her 50 year nursing career at Muskogee General Hospital. In 1975, she moved to Texas and worked for numerous hospitals and nursing homes, including Bluebonnet Nursing Home in Albany and Hendrick Hospice.

After Jackie retired, she enjoyed gardening, messing with her roses and visiting with friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one half-sister, Lucille Wilson; one half-brother, Jim Johnson; and one step-brother, George Jones.

Jackie is survived by her two daughters, Deana Reuss of Abilene, Donna Reuss of Albany; one brother, Jack Quaid of Saginaw, Michigan; one grandchild, Duncan Reuss; several half-nieces and nephews; and her special friend, Oreo.

The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Striegler and his staff, along with Hendrick Hospice and their staff for taking care of their mother.
