Jack Hopkins
Jack Hopkins, 73 of Albany, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026. A memorial service was held at 11am, Saturday, January 10th at the Albany Cemetery Pavilion. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Morehart Mortuary.
Jack R. Hopkins was born February 15. 1952 in Albany, Texas to Cecil O. Hopkins and Hazel Dixie Mitchell Hopkins. He grew up in Albany and graduated from Albany High School. Jack married Virginia Lancaster on April 8, 1995. Jack was involved in Friends of Fort Griffin and Fandangle, where he enjoyed cooking for both organizations. He was a member of Matthews Memorial Presbyterian Church and was a talented painter, woodworker and leather worker. He could craft gun holsters, belts and knife holders. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Hazel Hopkins; one step daughter, Eugenia Kay Holland and one nephew.
Mr. Hopkins is survived by his wife, Virginia Hopkins; one step son, Robert Hinkle; seven step grandchildren and eight great step grandchildren.
