Inez Benda was born Aug. 18, 1922, in the Pueblo Community near Putnam, Texas, to Chester and Emogene (Jeter) Allen and died Feb. 13, 2019, in Quitman, Texas. 

She was raised in the Pueblo Community and graduated from Moran High School and Abilene Business School. 

She later worked for the General Motors Corporation and was honored by earning Oldsmobile’s Nationwide Highest Achievement Award (twice) as part of the Oldsmobile Business Management Club.

On March 14, 1942, she married Miles Benda, a WWII Army soldier and farmer/rancher. They lived many happy years in the Moran-Albany area and attended/served Baptist churches in both communities as well as being involved in numerous community organizations.

Inez was preceded in death by her parents; husband Miles Benda; sister Charlene Austin; two brothers Jerrell and Bill Allen; grandson Cyle Connally; and great grandson Rowan Franklin. 

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Kay Franklin and her husband Kenny of New Braunfels, TX, Ann Connally of Quitman, TX, and Connie Graham and her husband Doug of Springtown, TX (formally of Hawley); grandchildren Kimberly Franklin, Chris Connally, Hank Beatty, Chuck Franklin, Candi (Connally) Fry, Chelsea Graham, and Chase Graham; great grandchildren Christiana Williams, A J Rice, Kaci Warren, Spencer Rye, Garrett Beatty, Michael Fry, Mason Connally, Brianna Connally, Mitchel Fry, and Kaylynn Franklin; one great-great-grandchild Kinsley Warren; as well as numerous extended family.

Graveside service for Ms. Inez Deloris Benda, 96, of Quitman, TX, is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at Moran Ceme-tery in Moran, TX, with Dan Connally officiating.
