Georgie Elizabeth Vandivere, 92, of Albany passed away peacefully on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2022. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being made by Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde.

Georgie was born Jan. 25, 1930, in Moran to John Thomas and Alma Dee (McClendon) Whitt. She attended school in Moran. She married Shelby Wallace “Van” Vandivere in Cisco on Dec. 18, 1948, moving to Albany shortly after. Georgie remained in Albany until 2020, when she moved to the Houston area to be near family. She was a homemaker most of her life, except when she worked for Davis Manufacturing in Breckenridge for several years in the 60’s.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Albany. Georgie loved working in her yard and has even received the Yard of the Month Award. She also loved watching the Dallas Cowboys and visiting with family and friends.

She is survived by two sons, Doug Vandivere and wife Reba of Conroe and Jerry Vandivere and wife Lori of Mineral Wells; daughter, Sue Williams of College Station; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Georgie was preceded in death by her husband Van in 2016; eight brothers and sisters; her grandson, Douglas W. Vandivere, Jr. and son-in-law, Bobby Williams.
