Georgia Barrett, age 76 of Albany, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021. Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 18 at First United Methodist Church of Albany with Rev. Tim Trimble officiating. Interment followed in the Albany Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. 

Georgia Ann Bowsher was born Nov. 5, 1945 in Stamford, Texas to George Madison Bowsher and Anna Shelton Bowsher. She graduated from Albany High School. Georgia married Charles Barrett in Albany on Dec. 14, 1963. 

She worked as a lease operator for Chevron until she retired in 1990. Georgia loved golfing with Charles, playing card games and Yahtzee with her grandchildren. She loved to visit and never met a stranger. She also had a great time hitting the slot machines at different casinos. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Anna Bowsher; her siblings, Joyce Vinson and husband Bennie, Neva Mitchell and husband Jimmy, Martha Zenkner and husband Manfred, Wade Bowsher and Travis Bowsher.

Georgia is survived by her husband of 58 years, Charles Barrett of Albany; two sons, Clint Barrett and fiancé Susan Prince, Dean Barrett and wife Cathy; seven grandchildren, Ashley Barrett, Kelsie Longoria, Jaclyn Barrett, Halen Barrett, Brooke Barrett, Raymond York, Michael Owens and wife Lauren; three great grandchildren, Emalyn Owens, Rylan Owens and Maddie Owens; sisters-in-law, Billie Etheredge, Shirley Fritz, Gracie Barker, Judy Patterson, Betty Barrett; and numerous nieces and nephews.
