GEORGE HAYS

George Hays, age 76 of Albany, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2022. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, Aug. 12th at the Albany Cemetery pavilion. Interment will follow under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

George Wesley Hays was born May 24, 1946 in Graham, Texas to Dr. John C. Hays and Ruth Agnes Harrell Hays.

He graduated from Graham High School and furthered his education at Midwestern State University. He went on to marry Marsha Faye Lewis on Aug. 31, 1968 in Archer City.

In his early years, George worked as a coach and teacher in Anson and loved sharing his know­ledge with others. Later, he worked in the oil field and owned CB Production. George loved to tinker with old cars in his spare time and was known to be able to fix anything.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. John C. Hays and Ruth “Aggie” Hays; and his brother, John Harrell Hays.

George is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marsha Hays of Albany; one daughter, Amie Hays and fiancé Alan Williamson of Baird; one son, Cal Hays and wife Tamala of Tuscola; one sister, Bonnie Howe of Clyde; and one granddaughter, Ella Hays.
