ELVA SANDERS

Elva Sanders, age 83 of Albany, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2023. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 18 at the Albany Cemetery with Bob Skelton officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 17 at Morehart Mortuary of Albany.

Elva Rae Hobbs was born Jan. 5, 1940 in New Castle, Texas to Bart Hobbs and Tressie Florene Byrd Hobbs. She married Theodora Joe Sanders in Albany on June 4, 1955. Mrs. Sanders worked at Bluebonnet Nursing Home and will be remembered for her loving and giving nature. She always put others before herself. Mrs. Sanders loved her Lord and her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Patrick Sanders; two brothers, Garland Hobbs, Bart “Randy” Hobbs; two sisters, Billie Dixon and Glenda Peacock.

Mrs. Sanders is survived by her five children, Ronnie Sanders of Albany, Terrye Newcomb and husband Doug of Breckenridge, Chris Blue of Albany, Ann Fick and husband Christopher of Sanger, Mary Novian and husband Johnny, Jr. of Albany; one sister, Carolyn Sue Breeden; 14 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
