Burl Davis, Sr., age 84 of Breckenridge, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2020. Graveside funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 26 at Hart Cemetery with Rev. Tom Moore officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. 

Burl Winfred Davis was born Sept. 27, 1935 in Viney Ridge, Oklahoma to parents, Glen Roe Davis and Lorene Emma Heatley Davis. 

His family moved to the Elliott Ranch near Moran when he was a child, and he attended schools in Moran and Albany, graduating from Albany High School in 1953. 

Mr. Davis served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War and was later Honorably Discharged. He worked for General Motors while living in Arlington, the Nail Ranch in Albany, and Ameritec and North Ridge as a production superintendent until he retired in 1997. 

Mr. Davis was a member of the VFW Post #7767 where he was a Quartermaster and Commander and a member of ELKS Lodge #1480. 

He enjoyed playing poker and going fishing. His greatest fishing trip was when he pulled in a 72-pound yellow catfish. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Lorene Davis; one son, Travis Davis; two brothers, Earl Davis, Jerry Davis; one sister, Doris Hoffman; one brother-in-law, John Williamson; one daughter-in-law, Dianna Davis; one nephew, Johnny Williamson; and one great nephew, Ben Davis.

Mr. Davis is survived by two sons, Burl Winfred (Buddy) Davis, Jr. and wife Marie of Gordon, Randy Davis of Clyde; two brothers, Jim Davis and wife Jan of Breckenridge, Max Davis and Shirley Webb of Alto, New Mexico; one sister, Hazel Williamson of Odessa; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; a great friend, Alta Pape; an adopted daughter, Gladys (Punkie) Parks and granddaughter, Allie.
