BRAZOS THOMSON

Donald Brazos Thomson, 38, of Prosper, TX, was called home by God on June 10,2022, after a long fight with Neurofibromatosis Type 2.

Brazos was born on Dec. 26, 1983, to Wayne and Joann Thomson II in Bryan, TX. Brazos graduated from Lutheran High School of Dallas in 2002 and then went on to study Landscaping at Richland College. He found his passion in his work in landscaping and irrigation. He enjoyed working with his good friend, Clay, at Clayton Bitler Service Company as well as working for a company he started, Thomson Landscaping. He loved a blank slate and turning it into something beautiful.

In 2013, Brazos married Marisa Alvarado in Dallas.

Brazos was known for his quirky sense of humor. He loved his t-shirts and hats that bordered on the inappropriate, usually making fun of his deafness and balance that could be misinterpreted for drunkenness. This kind of reaction from people, a laugh or a rise, entertained Brazos immensely. Brazos enjoyed all of the finest things in life – big boats, nice clothes and the biggest truck around. Above all, Brazos was happiest on a boat with a fishing pole and his family. He would often reminisce about the imperfectly-perfect fishing trips that he would take with his dad, uncle and brother. Brazos lived life with a carefree spirit knowing that his time was limited. His attitude toward life was to live to the fullest and by that, he showed us how to not take life so seriously and enjoy the little moments. He showed us how important family was and the importance of sticking together. He loved them fiercely and was loved in return.

Brazos is survived by his devoted and loving parents Wayne and Joann Thomson II, his wife, Marisa Thomson, his siblings, Becky Thomson, Allen (Mandy) Thomson III, and Amy (Josh) Hornback as well as his grandparents Sylvia Thomson and Wayne (Joan) Thomson I. He was also dearly loved by his 7 nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 2708 Virginia Pkwy., McKinney, TX 75071 on Thursday, June 16 at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at the Lutheran Cemetery in Albany, TX Thursday evening at 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Texas Neurofibromatosis Foundation at 320 Decker Dr, Suite 100, Irving, TX 75062.
