Bonnie Miller, age 86 of Albany, passed away early Sunday morning, Aug. 15, 2021. Graveside funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 17th at Albany Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Turner officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

Bonnie Lavell Miller was born Jan. 23, 1935 in Big Spring, Texas to James Miller and Lodella Tollett Miller. He played football for the Albany Lions, and graduated high school from Albany High. He married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Daniell. 

He worked in the oilfield in the drilling industry, and together they went on to start 6M Drilling Company and became an independent drilling contractor until his retirement.

Bonnie loved hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He and his beautiful wife of 66 years, Barbara, often went vacationing to New Mexico and Colorado, trout fishing and riding snowmobiles. Wintertime would find him hunting elk in the mountains of Colorado, and white tails and bobwhites in Texas. 

Mr. Miller was a member of First Baptist Church in Albany. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Kelly Miller; his brother, James Leonard Miller and his sister, Jimmie Moore.

Mr. Miller is survived by his wife of 66 years, Barbara Miller of Albany; two sons, Rick Miller and wife Sandy of Tuscola, Randy Miller of Albany; one daughter, Brenda Collinsworth and husband Rodney of Moran; one brother, Lloyd Hanke and wife Shelly of Robinson; five grandchildren, Wendy Ann Moseley and husband Vernon of Abilene,  Candie Atkinson and husband Carle of Granbury, John Miller of Fort Worth, Jason Cunningham and wife Megan of Midland, Kyle Miller and wife Stephanie of Buffalo Gap; six great grandchildren; Andrew, Kylee, Turner, Rhyder, Hannah and husband Jeremy, and Kade.

Honorary pallbearers were Andrew Rodriguez, Kylee Rodriguez, Turner Atkinson, Rhyder Cunningham, Hannah Finley and Kade Miller.
