Bobby Key, age 84 of Albany, passed away Sunday, Oct. 6, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 10 at Bethel Assembly with Pastor Paul Johnston officiating. Interment will follow in the Albany Ceme-tery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.
Bobby Linn Key was born Feb. 16, 1935 in Throckmorton, Texas to Delmon Wortham Key and Letha Bell Robinson Key.
Following graduation from Throckmorton High School, Bobby started his own tile business. He owned and operated Key Tile for 37 years.
On July 31, 1953, Bobby married Patsy Louise Donaldson in Albany. He enjoyed the horse races and was an avid fan of all Albany High School sports. On two separate occasions, Bobby and his brother, Glenn, were presented with the fan award at the Albany sports banquet.
Bobby was a deacon at Friendship Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wortham and Letha Key; one sister, Francis Greenway; and one brother, Wortham Glenn Key.
Mr. Key is survived by his wife, Pat Key of Albany; two sons, Maurice Key of Albany, Glenn Key and wife Becky of Hunt; one daughter, Ginger Prewit and husband Lige of Breckenridge; one accepted daughter, Annette Harris and husband Rusty of Albany; three sisters, Joyce Estridge of Tyler, Joanne Farr of Haskell, Beth Larned and husband Jerry of Abilene; one brother, Billy Ray Key of Green Valley, Arizona; one brother-in-law, Charles Greenway of Baird; five grandchildren, Chris Hargett and wife Jessica, Matt Hargett and wife Christina, Patti Duncan, Rowdy Key and wife Kacey, Cody Key and wife Morgan; seven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
