Bobby Gene Adkins went to be with our Lord and Savior on the morning of Monday, Oct. 29, 2018. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018, at First Baptist Church of Albany with Rev. Jeff Turner officiating. Services have been entrusted to Morehart Mortuary.

Bobby Gene Adkins was born in Montague County, Texas to Claude Weldon and Mattie Belle Adkins. He graduated from CF Brewer High School in White Settlement, Texas. He served in the Army in 1960. 

After he got out of the service, he pursued a business major at Texas Wesleyan University. Bob married Dorothy Sadberry Anderson, July 21, 1987, in Marietta, Oklahoma.

Bob was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Granbury, as well as Pecan Plantation and Nutcracker golf course. He was a Vietnam era vet. He loved to play baseball, go hunting, and go to Ruidoso, New Mexico. He was an avid golfer. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Weldon and Mattie Belle Adkins, and a sister, Betty Adkins.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Adkins, of Albany; two sons, Scott Adkins and wife Kathleen of Springtown, Barry and wife Alissa of White Settlement; and a daughter, Kim Vanderford and husband Vint of White Settlement. He had five children by marriage, Tommy Anderson and wife Sandy of Ranger, Donnie Anderson and wife Terri of Albany, Ronnie Anderson and wife Maggie of Breckenridge, Linda Crawford and husband Jerry of Brady, and Rita Siska and husband Jimmy of Rockwell; a brother, Jimmy Adkins of Decatur; a sister, Donna Baker of White Settlement; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Albany or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Condolences may be made at morehartmortuary.net. PD
