BART “RANDY” HOBBS

Bart “Randy” Hobbs, age 72 of Albany, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2022. Graveside funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 29 at Albany Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Pleasant officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

Bart “Randy” Hobbs was born May 24, 1949 in Olney, Texas to Bart T. Hobbs and Tressie Florene Byrd Hobbs. He graduated high school and later enlisted in the United States Army. He served until he was honorably discharged in 1971.

The next year, Randy married Brenda Gale Dendy on May 10, 1972 in Albany. He worked in the oil field and later for the railroad commission until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Garland Hobbs; and two sisters, Billy Dixon and Glenda Peacock.

Randy is survived by his wife of 49 years, Brenda Hobbs of Albany; one daughter, Stacy Bowen of Abilene; two sons, Steven Hobbs and wife Melissa of Albany, John Hobbs and wife Barbara of Midland; two sisters, Elva Rae Sanders and Carolyn Sue Breeden, both of Albany; 12 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
