ALVICE PARRISH
William Alvice Parrish of Moran, passed away Friday, May 21, 2021, a week shy of his 91st birthday. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 29 at First Baptist Church in Moran with Bro. Larry Briley and Bro. John Tunnell officiating. Interment will follow in the Moran Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 28, at Morehart Mortuary of Albany.
William Alvice Parrish was born May 27, 1930 in Moran to parents David Parrish and Eletha Fleming Parrish. Alvice was a member of the Moran High School Class of 1947. He graduated from Ranger Junior College and went on to attend Texas Tech University.
Alvice served in the United States Army and returned to Moran upon his honorable discharge. He married Eva Elizabeth Bailey on June 27, 1948 in Moran.
Alvice spent most of his life farming and ranching, which is what he loved most. He enjoyed woodworking and stained glass. Mr. Parrish was a Moran school board member for over 30 years and an active member and deacon of First Baptist Church, where he was the song leader for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two sons-in-law, Johnnie Branham and Don Stutsman.
Mr. Parrish is survived by his four children, Alice Branham, Ellen Stutsman, both of Moran, Janet Swanner and husband Stephen of Wichita Falls, and Billy Parrish and wife Tammy of Moran; sister-in-law, Marjorie Barnhill and husband Robert of Brady; 11 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
