Banquet honors 4-H members, marks end of successful year
The Shackelford County 4-H program recently concluded another successful year with its annual awards banquet held Saturday, August 9, where members were recognized for their project completions and outstanding achievements.
The new 4-H year is now getting underway with planning strategies this month and a formal kickoff in September.
“The rest of August will be spent meeting with the officer teams and adult leaders to plan, and we’ll kick off our new year in September,” Shackelford County Extension Agent and 4-H sponsor Kelsey Bell said. “We don’t have a date set yet.”
The annual banquet recognized 4-H members for their accomplishments during the 2024-2025 school year.
“I always enjoy reflecting on the past year and having a chance to get all the different clubs together to see what each has done and accomplished,” Bell said.
Scholarships were awarded to three members, senior graduates Madailein Beard, Landon Kreitler, and Riley Reames.
“Our Awards Banquet wraps up another great year for Shackelford County 4-H!” Bell said. “We gave out project completion awards as well as the three scholarships. These kids and their families are just pretty amazing!”
Bell expressed gratitude to local supporters who helped make the event a success.
“Thank you to Betsy Parsons of The Whitney Theatre, Betsy Spraberry for catering, and Cara Richards of Albany Rentals for supporting us and helping the event go off without a hitch!”
The Shackelford County 4-H program looks forward to another year of learning, leadership, and community involvement.
