Stock show golf scramble set for this weekend

With tournament weekend just ahead, organizers of the Shackelford County Youth & Livestock Association’s annual 3-Person Golf Scramble are encouraging teams to grab the last few open spots.

The tournament will be held Saturday and Sunday, July 20–21, at Albany Golf Club. While the afternoon flight is full, limited space remains in the 8:30 a.m. morning slot. Entry is $125 per player.

Proceeds from the event directly support local youth in the Shackelford County stock show. Over the last few years, fundraisers like this have nearly doubled the premium sale payouts for local exhibitors.

Saturday evening will feature a meal, followed by a Calcutta and live music by Matt Stapp. A live auction will offer high-profile items including a Scottie Scheffler signed Masters flag, a Scotty Cameron putter, a Colt McCoy autographed Texas Longhorns jersey, and a Von Miller signed NFL jersey.

Sponsorships are still available at multiple levels, from $300 Bronze to $2,000 Corporate. All sponsors receive meal access and signage on the course, with top-tier sponsors receiving banner placement.

Last year’s scramble raised more than $40,000, and organizers hope to top that mark again this year.

To register or become a sponsor, contact Reggy Spencer at (325) 370‑8990 or Shawn Sutton at (325) 514‑3789.
