Main Street packed for Saturday’s Fandangle parade

Main Street was lined with spectators on Saturday, June 21, as the annual Fort Griffin Fandangle Parade brought a colorful display of floats, riders, and music through downtown Albany. With 45 total entries, this year’s parade was one of the largest in recent memory.

Parade co-chairs John Ayers, Cori Bezner, and Claire Ware coordinated the event and kept everything running smoothly.

The parade chairs want to thank Kelsey Bell, David Waller and Cali Rose for organizing the parade entries, as well as Jake Cleveland for handling the sound system and Pam Davis for announcing. Parade judges included Debby Smith, Debbie Jones, Ginny Ivy, and Sandy Abel.

The parade was supported by generous sponsors, including Clear Fork Realty, The Albany News, Clear Fork Bank, First Financial Bank, and Momentum. Additional thanks were extended to Jamie Parsons, Lorna Ayers, Jeff Pleasant, and the Shackelford County Sheriff’s Office and local police for managing street closures and safety.
