FCA All-Star Festival highlights local athletes, coach over weekend

Three senior athletes from Albany and Moran represented their schools at the 2025 Big Country FCA All-Star Festival held last week in Abilene and Brownwood.

Albany’s Abi Hale competed in the Bev Ball All-Star Volleyball Classic, held Thursday, June 5, at Abilene Christian University’s Moody Coliseum. Her classmate Myleigh Leveridge served as an FCA all-star cheerleader during the volleyball game, both basketball games, and the 26th annual Myrle Greathouse All-Star Football Classic on Saturday, June 7, at Shotwell Stadium.

Ellis Hise of Moran took the court in the boys’ all-star basketball game on Friday evening, following the girls’ game earlier that night at Moody Coliseum.

Three additional Albany athletes were selected for the all-star festival but did not participate: Landon Balliew (football), Chip Chambers (baseball), and Caroline Holson (girls’ basketball).

In addition to the athletes, Albany’s Kay Leigh Oliver was recognized as the 2025 Big Country East Area FCA Huddle Coach of the Year. The award highlights her leadership in organizing local Fellowship of Christian Athletes meetings, which consistently draw more than 80 students each month.

The Big Country FCA All-Star Festival showcases senior athletes from across the region in a series of games that celebrate both athletic achievement and Christian values.
