Paul Cauthen returns to Aztec stage this Friday

Texas singer-songwriter Paul Cauthen will return to Albany this Friday, May 30, headlining a concert at the Aztec Theater. The show marks Cauthen’s third performance at the Aztec since 2023.

Known for his commanding baritone and a genre-defying mix of country, soul, and rock, Cauthen has earned national recognition for his originality and on-stage presence. A native of Tyler, he has built a loyal following through years of relentless touring and a catalog of music that includes the critically acclaimed albums Room 41 and Country Coming Down. His lyrics often reflect raw emotion, vulnerability, and swagger, delivered with a vocal style that’s drawn comparisons to legends while carving out a space uniquely his own.

The May 30 show will also feature three of Cauthen’s longtime songwriting collaborators — Ryan Tyndell, Jeff Hyde, and Bryan Simpson — all of whom bring strong credentials to the stage. Each artist has worked extensively in the country music industry, writing for major acts such as Eric Church, Miranda Lambert, and The Dixie Chicks.

Tickets for the concert went on sale earlier this month at a general admission price of $50. There will be no reserved seating. Event organizers have reported a strong response and say that only a limited number of tickets remain. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the show beginning at 8:00 p.m.

The Aztec Theater will once again serve as the host venue for the event. Goodnight Steakhouse and Saloon will provide bar service inside the Aztec’s lounge area for concertgoers throughout the evening.

Organizers anticipate a full house again this week and encourage those planning to attend to purchase tickets in advance.
