Local player wins state football title

Albany’s Truett (True) Maberry helped Abilene Finest8Ufootballteamwin the TexaSports 8U state championship Sunday, Nov. 24 at Frisco’s Ford Center.

Maberry, a third grader at Nancy Smith Elementary School, primarily played inside linebacker, but took overatquarterbacktoscore a conversion in Sunday’s 13-0 victory over Denton True Buzz.
