MILDRED SPURGIN

Mildred Jo Spurgin went to be with her Lord on Oct. 20, 2024. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, at the First Christian Church in Albany, Texas, with Pastor Brad McBee officiating. Burial will be in Albany Cemetery, directed by Girdner Funeral Home of Abilene, Texas.

Mildred Jo Spurgin was born on Dec. 28, 1933 in Albany, Texas, to Walter and Lena Kilgore Posey. She married Edward Ray Spurgin on Feb. 8, 1950.

She was a devoted Christian, a loving mother, and a loving grandmother. She loved sending birthday and anniversarycardstothoseshe knew. She was a homemaker most of her life. She retired from Albany Independent School District after 10 years of serving in the cafeteria. She loved seeing and feeding all the children.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Edward Spurgin; parents, Walter and Lena Posey; sister Lucille Brown; and two brothers, Clayton Posey and Howard Posey.

She is survived by children Linda Isbell, Terry (Kathy) Spurgin, and Kristy Eubank; grandchildrenJasonGardner, Justin (Julie) Lenamon, John (LaDonna) Lenamon, Dana (Art) Salinas, Emily (Raul) Spurgin-Rodriguez, Britny Eubank, Natily Eubank, Jimmy (Debbie) Lenamon, Jeff Lenamon, Jack (Christine) Isbell, and Samantha Isbell; great grandchildren Shelbie (Mitchell) Lee, Kylea Gardner, Judah, Josie, Joy andJettLenamon,Aly,Ethan and Cash Salinas, Ramona Rodriguez, Ashton Pierce, Luna Eubank, Kyle, Landon andAshleighLenamon,Jaxon Lenamon, Dylan and Lily Lenamon, Hailey and Tristan Isbell, Derek and Traci Isbell, andHannahandGraceMackenzie; great-great grandson Mason Lee; numerous nieces and one nephew.

Pallbearers are Jason Gardner, Justin Lenamon, Art Salinas, Ethan Salinas, Raul Rodriguez, Bob Skelton, Hugh Norman. Honorary pallbearers are Chris Beard, Ross Balliew, David Walls, and Steve Eubank.
