Graveside services for Rita Fay Newcomb, were held Wednesday, July 17, 2024, atAlbany Cemetery, Albany, Texas under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home, Seminole, Texas, officiated by Rev. Michael Billings.

Rita Fay Newcomb passed away July 12, 2024, in Midland, Texas.

Rita was born Nov. 2, 1932, in Albany, Texas to Wesley Sterling Scott and Olive Inella Hayes Scott.

Rita and Kenneth Newcomb were married in 1978 in Midland, Texas. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Seminole Memorial Hospital; she also volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was a nursery teacher for many years, and was also part of the Iron Angels.

Rita was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Newcomb on Sept. 13, 2016; her parents; her stepdaughter Debbie Billings; five brothers and one sister Rita is survived by her three sons, Gary Mitchell of Marble Falls, Skeet Mitchell of Granbury, and Scott Mitchell of Brownwood; also one daughter Janis Jackson of Midland; nine grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and two step-great-great grandchildren all of whom she loved dearly.
