Bulldogs stay undefeated with Lohn win

The Moran Bulldogs continued the successful start of their basketball season Monday, Nov. 20 with a 48-38 victory at Lohn.

Moran (2-0) returns to action at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20 (tonight) against Lueders-Avoca in the first round of the Moran Bulldogs Holiday Tournament.

At Lohn, the Bulldogs overcame a 14-7 firstquarter deficit with a 21-5 edgeinthesecondquarter. Moran outscored Lohn 35-11 over the second and third quarters to take control.

Ellis Hise led Moran with 16 points, scoring 12 in the second quarter. Caleb York and Garrett Hamiltonbothscorednine points, Zech Henderson added five points, Cotten Campbell and Landon Morenoscoredfourapiece, andDannyO’Keefescored one.

The Lady Bulldogs did not play last week because of a lack of healthy players. 

Tourney Time

Both Moran boys and girls will have a busy weekend with their home tournament. The Lady Bulldogs will play Lueders- Avoca at 6:00 p.m. today.

The two eight-team brackets feature teams from Strawn, Garner, Brookesmith, Paint Creek, and Trent in addition to the Munday boys JV and Hawley girls JV.

Games start at 9:00 a.m. each day with eight games each day.

Thegirlschampionship game is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.Saturday,Dec.2,with the boys championship at 7:30 p.m.

Junior High

The Moran junior high teams returned from the holiday break to play May Monday, Nov. 27.

In the boys game, Moran lost 31-2. Dylan Herod scored Moran’s basket.

Details of the girls game were not available.

The teams visit Eula on Monday, Dec. 4.
