Thursdaynightplayoff games mean Wednesday night pep rallies for Albany Lions fans. For the second time in the 2023 playoffs, Lions fans gathered on a Wednesday night at Bank Park for this week’s downtown pep rally.

The Lions take on fourth-rankedCollinsville at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, Nov.30(tonight)inaClass 2A Division II state quarterfinal at Iowa Park. The winner advances to the state semifinals to take on the winner of Friday’s game between Clarendon and Sunray.

The Lions and Pirates played in last year’s quarterfinal round.

Followingthepeprally, the beating of the spirit drumcommencedandwill continue through today’s send-off, which is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.

The downtown pep rallies willcontinuethenight before each game as long as the Lions remain in the playoffs.

Fan Bus

Lions fans can hitch a ride to tonight’s game on a bus chartered by the Albany Athletic Booster Club with the support of Clear Fork Bank.

The bus will depart at 4:00 p.m. today from the Chamber of Commerce parking lot.

Fans are advised to bring a sack lunch if they wish to eat on the trip.
