Parents Day Out available Dec. 9

First Baptist Church of Albany will have Parents Day Out childcare Saturday, Dec. 9.

FBC children’s minister Ginger Bumguardner said the event is designed to allow parents time to do Christmas shopping without children.

The program offers a fun-filled day for children sixweeksoldthroughsixth grade.

“The kids are going to be making their own gifts to give,” Bumguardner said.

Hours will be 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Because of the extended hours, cost will be $40 for the first child, $30 for a second and $20 for a third. No family will be charged more than $90. “That’s for 8½ hours of care plus the gifts the children are going to make for their family members.”

Lunch and snacks will be provided, but children are allowed to bring their own food.

Bumguardnersaidmore time will allow for more activities throughouttheday.

“Wehadsomuchfunlast time, we didn’t get to all our games,” she said. “We have a lot planned.”

“Just text me the kids’ names and ages,” she said. “That will get them reserved.”

Space is limited, so parentsmustcontactBumguardner for reservations. The Parents Night Out program will return to its regular format after the holidays. Dates for early 2024 are Jan. 13, Feb. 10, April13,andMay11.There will not be a night in March because of spring break.

Sunday School Rides Bumguardner said children needing a ride to Sunday school can text her for a lift.

“We’ve got people who are committed to that ministry to go pick up people,” she said. “Anybody that needs a ride to church, we’ll get them there.”

Sunday School starts at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday.

“We’ll pick up at 9:15 a.m. and drop off at noon after church services,” Bumguardner said.
