Bulldogs win opener

The Moran Bulldogs boys basketball team opened its season on a winning note Friday, Nov. 17 with a 34-22 victory at Mullin.

Moran teams visited Lohn on Tuesday. Results will be reported next week. Moran will host the Moran Tournament Thursday,Nov.30through Saturday, Dec. 2.

At Mullin, Garrett Hamilton and Ellis Hise each scored 12 points. Caleb Yorkaddedfive,Chase Murk three, and Landon Moreno two.

Girls Basketball

The Moran Lady Bulldogs droppedapairofroad games last week, falling 49-30 Tuesday, Nov. 14 at Blanket and 29-23 on Friday at Mullin.

At Blanket, the Moran girls fell behind by 11 in the first quarter. Kielar CarrledtheLadyBulldogs with13points,followedby LeAnnaSikeswithseven, Maekayla Kersey and KacendaThompkinswith four each, and Emma Mc-Cullough with two.

Sikes had eight rebounds. Carr, Kersey, and Thompkins each grabbed six. Sikes and Carr each had three assists with Kerseymakingfoursteals.

At Mullin, Moran trailed 9-5 after one quarter and stayed within single digits the rest of the way. Carr scored 16 points with Kersey scoring three and Sikes and McCullough two apiece.

Junior High

Moran’s junior high teams took the week off for Thanksgiving and will return to action Monday, Nov. 27 against May at home. The girls game will start at 6:00 p.m. with the boys to follow.
