Free audio of game to be available

Fans of the Albany Lions unable to attend this week’s playoff game can still keep up with the team online.

Albany plays Celeste at 7:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, in a Class 2A Division II area playoff at Springtown.

Due to UILregulations, video of postseason games may only be streamed through the NFHS website, which requires a subscription. Subscription rates are $11.99 per month or $79.99 for a year. For more information, visit www.nfhsnetwork.com.

However, the audio portion of the broadcast will be available for free on the Albany ISD Broadcast YouTube channel.

“We plan to continue to offer the audio-only option throughout the playoffs,” Albany superintendent Jonathan Scott said. “We do not want anyone to miss out on the Albany Lions games due to fees associatedwithNFHS.We thought a free audio-only option would be a good solution.”
