Pep rally, send-off planned for team

With the Albany Lions headed to the second round of the Class 2A Division II footballplayoffs,theAlbany Athletic Booster Club will hold a downtown pep rally at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16 (tonight) at Bank Park.

The Lions take on Celeste at 7:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17 at Springtown in the area round.

Following the pep rally, the beating of the spirit drum will commence at 8:00p.m.andcontinueuntil Friday’s send-off. Booster Club president Cari Heatly said two time slots still remained as of Tuesday, Nov. 14 – 2:00-3:00 a.m. Friday and noon-1:00 p.m. Friday.

Thesend-offisscheduled for 2:30 p.m. Friday with the team buses passing by Bank Park before heading to Springtown.

The downtown pep rallies will continue the night before each game as long as the Lions remain in the playoffs.
