Shackelford County Commissioners awarded bids for bulk fuel and mowing, as well as adopting a “Resolution for Freedom from Medical Mandates.”

The document, which was unanimously approved on a motion by Lanham Martin, seconded byAceReames,bans“overreaching” governmental masking, vaccination, and other types of medical mandates in Shackelford County, instead leaving those to “personal choice.”

•Twobidswerereceived toprovidethecounty’sbulk fuel.After review, the commissioners opted to accept Lion Fuels bids for regular gas and diesel.

•Texas Grass Shall Grow submitted the only bids for mowing of the Courthouse Square and of two rural cemeteries.

•RequestsbyPct.3commissioner Martin to purchase a 2017 Mack truck for just under $50,000, including a trade-in, and by Pct. 4 commissioner Cody Jordan for purchase of a 45-foot trailer for $25,000 were both approved.

•Martin and Jordan were given the county’s votes as nominees for the county appraisal board.

•The county-wide burn ban was extended for another 45 days.

•The treasurer’s report for September was approved.
