Flag football teams head into playoffs

TwoteamsintheAlbany NFL Flag Football League remained undefeated as the league entered the final games of the schedule this week.

Thefinalregular-season games were set Monday, Oct. 23 and Tuesday, Oct. 24. Threatening weather was a factor, but the Monday gameswerecompleted as scheduled. Results will be reported next week.

The playoffs are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 28 at Nail Stadium.

Through the fifth week of the schedule with games played Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 16-17, the Bucs in the Kindergarten-First Grade division and Broncos in the Second-Third Grade Division were 5-0 with both clinching the No. 1 playoff seeds.

In the Fourth-Fifth Grade division, the Saints and Cowboys were tied for first at 4-1 after splitting their two games. Both teams won by the same margin and had the same point totals in their headto- head meetings.

The second and third seeds in the two younger age groups were also undecided entering the final round of games. In Kindergarten-FirstGrade, the Cardinals (2-2-1) and Chargers (2-3) were separated by just a half game, as were the Rams (2-2-1) and Seahawks (2-3) in Second-Third Grade. Both situations were to be determined by head-to-head meetings in Week 6.

The fourth seed in Kindergarten- First Grade will be the Colts (0-4-1) with the Patriots (0-4-1) taking the fourth spot in Second-Third Grade.

In Fourth-Fifth Grade, the Giants (2-3) will be the thirdseedwiththePackers (0-5) fourth.

WEEK 5 – OCT. 16-17 Kindergarten-First Grade – Bucs 24, Cardinals 0; Chargers 19, Colts 12.

Second-Third Grade – Broncos 31, Rams 0; Seahawks 36, Patriots 6.

Fourth-Sixth Grade – Saints 36, Cowboys 20; Giants 27, Packers 14.
