Red Ribbon Week is the nation’s oldest and largest drug use prevention awarenesscampaign. Red Ribbon Week started after the death of DEA Special Agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena, who in 1985 was murdered by drug traffickers he was investigating in Mexico. After Kiki’s death, people started wearing red ribbons tohonorhissacrifice. Today, millions of people celebrate Red Ribbon Week by wearing red ribbons, participating in community antidrug events, and pledging to live drug-free lives. Join us in our mission to help keep kids drug-free.

Red Ribbon Week is next week, Oct. 23-27. We will celebrate making healthy choices and choosing to be drug free. Students can enter the drug-free poster contest. Prizes will be awarded in each division. Posters are due by Friday, Oct. 27 at 9 am. Here are the NSES dress-up days:

•Monday (Pajama Day)

•Tuesday (Crazy Hair & Sock Day)

•Wednesday (Twin/Triplet Day)

•Thursday (Color War)
