Chamber luncheon ‘moved’

The regular Chamber of Commerce noon luncheon this Friday has been cancelled, or maybe more accurately “moved,”somembers and others can support the Albany Kiwanis Club fajita lunch at noon that day at the golf course.

The public is invited to eat at the fajita luncheon. The cost is $15 per person.

Chamber manager Brandi Lehew said that conflicts with the Kiwanis fundraiserandotherhomecoming activities resulted in the decision to cancel the regular Chamber luncheon at the Icehouse.

The weekly Chamber lunch and meeting will resume at the Icehouse on Friday, Oct. 27.

Downtown Trick or Treat

The downtown merchants will be hosting their annual Main Street Trick or Treat on Tuesday, Oct. 31 from 4:00 until 5:00 p.m.

Participatingbusinesses will be set up mostly in the main block of downtown to hand out candy and treats to local children donning their Halloween attire.

Other businesses outside the downtown area, along with clubs or organizations are also welcome to set up tables in the downtown blockortheBankPark to hand out candy.

In conjunction with the event, the Albany PTO will hold its annual costume contest at 5:30 p.m. at the Bank Park on Halloween Day.

The contest will not be held with the Fall Fest this year because that event has been moved after Halloween to Nov. 4.

Winners in each category will receive prizes this year, with the overall winnerbeingawardeda$50 Fall Fest wrist band.
