Fans of Albany Lions and Lady Lions can meet student-athletes Monday, Aug. 7 at the Albany Athletic Booster Club’s annual Ice Cream Supper at the Bank Park.

The evening will begin with the opening of the Spirit Shop at 6:00 p.m. Burgers will be served starting at 6:30 p.m. with football, volleyball, and cross country athletes introduced after that.

In addition, the Albany cheerleaders and participants from Cubs Cheer Camp will perform.

“Bring lawn chairs or blankets if you like,” Booster Club president Cari Heatly said. “Come out and support the Albany Lions and Lady Lions as they kick off the season.”

Price of the meal – which includes hamburgers, chips, and a drink – is $10. Payment may be made by credit card, Venmo, check, or cash.

Albany cheerleaders will be serving homemade ice cream for dessert.

The cheerleaders will also have a table set up next to the ice cream for  button sales for all grades 7-12.  Only buttons for fall sports will be sold at this time. Buttons will cost $5 each. The cheerleaders will only accept cash or checks.

Senior Photos

Before the Ice Cream Supper, senior athlete photos will be taken starting at 5:45 p.m. with football players and cheerleaders at the Picket House. After that, all senior athletes who plan to play a sport this year are asked to come go around the corner to the Chamber of Commerce office for photos around 6:00 p.m.

Team Gear

Heatly said preorders for Albany team shirts and other paraphernalia will be taken through the Booster Club website (www.albanyathleticboosterclub.com) and the Albany Athletic Booster Spirit Shop Facebook page.

Payments can be made by credit card or apps such as Venmo, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
