Spots still open in OJAC camps
By Melinda L. Lucas
With the extended deadline for the Old Jail Art Center children’s workshop coming up on Friday, July 21, parents need to get their 6-12 year olds signed up for one or more of the four sessions scheduled over the first two weeks of August.
All the workshops are only offered in person this year, moving back to pre-COVID traditions according to the OJAC’s director of education Erin Whitmore.
The traditional Cultural Connections Camp, which is centered on Egypt this year, will start things off on Wednesday, Aug. 2.
Three other workshops will be Aug. 4, Aug 8-9, and Aug. 11, including the popular puppet workshop.
The workshops are free to OJAC members, with a $15 cost for non-members.
Registration can be completed from the Old Jail’s home page (theojac.org), by going directly to the registration form at theojac.org/student-summer-camp-registration, over the phone by calling 325-762-2936, or in person at the museum’s front desk.
The form can also be clipped out of the ad in the July 6 issue of The Albany News and taken to the Old Jail.
