Day Camp registration continues
By Donnie A. Lucas
The registration period for the annual summer Day Camp sponsored by ResourceCare is currently open online through the month of June.
The program will be held on July 10-14 and July 24-28 this year for Albany area residents. Parents are asked to notice that Day Camp is only two weeks this year instead of the usual three-week period, and there is an open week in between.
Parents needing to register children ages 3 through entering sixth grade in the fall can find the link on ResourceCare’s Facebook page, scan the QR code that accompanies this article, or email Ragan Riley at rriley@resource care.org.
Required paperwork will also need to be completed by a parent for children to attend, including permission and allegy forms, as well as prescription release forms for campers who need to be administered medications during camp hours.
Meals will be provided for campers at no charge; however, no outside food or drinks are allowed due to grant restrictions by the Summer Food Program grant that will cover the cost of the meals.
High school students who want to be considered for paid counselor positions must contact ResourceCare as soon as possible. Junior high students are also able to volunteer for non-paid positions.
The camp is funded in part by the Albany Chest, along with donations and fundraising events such as CareFest.
Donations are still being sought to help fund the camp.
Contributions can be mailed to ResourceCare, ATTN: Day Camp, P.O. Box 2435, Albany, TX 76430.
