Prom attire available at Sweet Repeats
By Sam Waller
With prom season in full swing, Sweet Repeats Ministry is again offering free use of formal attire for people in Shackelford County and the surrounding area.
An offshoot of Closet Angels, Sweet Repeats is operated by Tammy McBee out of First Christian Church, 201 S. Walnut St.
McBee said the variety of dresses and menswear covers a wide range.
“Dresses go from extra small to 4X,” McBee said. “For men, we have tuxedoes, two-piece and three-piece suits, slacks, and jackets.”
The ministry provides formal wear for proms, weddings, dances, and other special events such as quinceañeras.
“We even have wedding dresses and wedding decorations that have been donated,” McBee said.
McBee said accessories such as shoes, purses, and jewelry are also available. For men, items such as ties, suspenders, and tuxedo shoes may be borrowed.
There is no age restriction or cost to borrow clothing, though donations to cover the cost of dry cleaning are appreciated.
To select items, contact McBee at 325-762-6500 to set up an appointment.
Donations of clothing or accessories may be dropped off at First Christian Church, or McBee may be contacted to arrange to collect items.
“We look for variety and sizes,” she said. “I don’t turn anything away. I have a prom dress from 1971 that’s gone out four times.”
