The City of Albany will again provide a trash container for citizens to “chunk your junk.”

City council member Lynsi Musselman said a trash container will be placed in the Depot parking lot Friday evening and picked up Monday morning.

“We’re just providing a way for citizens of Albany to have a place to dump their trash on the weekends since the dump is closed at that time, and it’s hard for people to get there during the work week,” Musselman said. “This is an opportunity for people to clean up some yards to beautify our community and look good for upcoming events. I think it’s something we’ll try to do in the fall, as well.”

The city provided the service the first weekend of April with the container filling up so quickly a second container was brought in.

“I would plan to get there as soon as we have something to toss trash in,” Musselman said. “The goal is to provide a place for people to dump their trash over the weekend and to get people, especially those who live on and around Main Street, to keep their yards nice.”
