Club plans vision screening
The Albany Lions Club will sponsor a free preliminary vision screening event called “Sight For All” in the Friendship Baptist Church’s Activity Building from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 29.
The vision screening is open to ages 2 and older, checking for need of glasses, lazy eye, cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy.
The preliminary vision screening is made possible by Lions Club District 2E-1, made up of 40 Lions Clubs from Stephenville to Wichita Falls who have have donated funds to purchase the necessary equipment for the screening.
Tom Labbe, a retired optometrist, along with club members trained to operate the instruments, will conduct the screening.
The “Sight For All” program attempts to find solutions for any issues detected during the preliminary vision screening.
Brookshire’s and First National Bank have partnered with the Albany Lions Club to provide snacks and water to those attending the vision screening event on Saturday, April 29.
