Plans for the 2024 Shackelford County Youth and Livestock Show will be proposed, discussed, and voted on next week at the Shackelford Youth and Livestock Association annual meeting.

The meeting is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 11 at the Albany High School Ag Building.

The meeting will include election for two positions on the Association’s board as well as discussion of this year’s show and proposed rule changes.

“This is the time when we discuss things that may need to be changed,” Association president Bronco Askew said. ‘Then the board will meet and vote on those ideas.”

Payday

Checks from the 2023 stock show will be distributed Thursday, April 13 at the Chamber of Commerce building.

All outstanding balances owed to the Shackelford Youth and Livestock Association, Albany FFA, or Shackelford County 4-H must already have been paid. Also, any students who fed animals at the FFA barn must have cleaned their pens. Failure to have satisfied either requirement will result in checks being withheld.

Students owing money to the Albany FFA Livestock Scholarship Fund must have that paid by Wednesday, April 12. Payments may be made by check or cash.
