Another annual Albany Classic Car Show is gearing up for Saturday, April 15 in downtown Albany, with the public urged to come view dozens of vintage cars and trucks from around the Big Country.

Organizer and car enthusiast Robert Snyder said he has had a good response so far of owners planning to attend.

“There are actually a couple of other shows that weekend, even though we try to avoid that,” Snyder said. “The people I have talked to are planning to come to ours, and we are expecting another good show if the weather cooperates.”

Registration for exhibitors is from 8:00 until 11:00 a.m. the day of the show. There is a $20 entry fee, with over 25 classes to enter. Specialty and individual awards will be handed out for both cars and trucks.

Entries will be lined up on South First Street between First National Bank and the Bank Park, along with an adjacent vacant lot to the west if needed.

The show is open to all classics, antiques, hot rods, customs, trucks, and more.

Judging is done by committee members, with the exception of the People’s Choice Awards for a car and truck.

The local car club will host a hamburger fundraiser at the downtown car museum on Friday night, starting about 5:30 p.m.

The traditional Friday night in-town cruise night is expected to last from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., followed by the burn-out from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Snyder said that he expects several food vendors to set up at the Bank Park during the day on Saturday.
