Jr. high teams resume play today

The Albany Junior High Cubs and Lady Cubs resume their seasons following the Christmas break this week with the girls teams hosting a tournament in addition to their regular games.

On Thursday, Jan. 12 (tonight), Albany takes on Cisco with the boys at home and the Lady Cubs on the road.

Boys games will start at 5:30 p.m. with the combo team, followed by seventh grade at 6:15 p.m. and eighth grade at 7:00 p.m.

The girls White team will start at 5:30 p.m. with the Red team at 6:30 p.m.

Albany teams will play Hawley on Thursday, Jan. 19 before returning to Monday nights for the last  two weeks of the season

Tournament Schedule

The junior high girls tournament is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 14, featuring two four-team divisions playing a round-robin format.

Albany Red will play in the eighth grade division in the main gym, taking on Eastland at 10:00 a.m., Gordon at 11:00 a.m., and Sweetwater at 1:00 p.m.

The tourney will have six games in each division starting at 10:00 a.m. The final games of the day are scheduled for 3:00 p.m.

Albany White will play in the seventh grade division in the old gym, facing Abilene TLCA at 10:00 a.m., Sweetwater at noon, and Eastland at 3:00 p.m.
