Tabor, Hinkle named club sweethearts
By Sam Waller
Albany High School senior Briley Tabor has been selected to serve as Albany Lions Club Sweetheart for 2022-23, while Samantha Hinkle was chosen as her counterpoint from Moran High School.
“Sweethearts meet with us on Thursday every chance that they get, if their school schedules will permit,” Lions Club president Bob Skelton said. “They’re invited to assist us with fundraising or service projects, and if they’re available, they often participate.”
The Albany Lions have already conducted two fundraising projects this fall. On Saturday, Sept. 24, local Lions helped with the Benefit Bowl football game between Cisco College and Trinity Valley Community College at Cisco’s Chesley Field. The local club managed the gate, sold programs, and managed the prize board.
The latest project was advance ticket sales for the Culpepper & Merriwether Circus that came to Albany on Friday, Oct. 7 for two performances.
Tabor and Hinkle both represented the Albany Lions Club in the homecoming parade on Friday, Oct. 14.
