More than three weeks before the event, the Albany Golf Club’s annual Labor Day tournament has a full field, club president Randy Walker announced on Tuesday.

Walker said a waiting list for alternate entries will be compiled in case any teams withdraw.

The two-person scramble is scheduled for Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 3-4 at Albany Golf Course.

Walker said he expects the course to be in good condition for the tournament. A year ago, the scramble was the course’s first big event after six greens had to be resodded because of damage caused by the February 2021 winter storm.

“We’ve been told by out-of-town people that the greens are very nice this year,” Walker said. “The course is in pretty good shape considering the weather.”

The field will consist of 44 teams – 22 in the morning flight and 22 in the afternoon flight.

Entry fee is $200 per team and includes a brisket dinner on Saturday.

The morning flight will tee off at 8:30 a.m. with the afternoon flight beginning play at 1:30 p.m.

A limited number of carts are still available for the afternoon.

Contact Kennith Waters at 325-660-2329 to be placed on the waiting list.
