Lions Club scholarships given

The Albany Lions Club presented club Sweethearts Caitlan Lee of Albany and Johnnie Hise of Moran with scholarships on Thursday, May 12 at the weekly meeting.

“We were able to provide $500 apiece,” Lions Club president Bob Skelton said. “Johnnie’s headed to Texas A&M, and Caitlan is planning to go to TCU.”

As Sweethearts, the duo assisted local Lions a variety of functions.

“They met with us as often as they could during our noon meetings on Thursdays,” Skelton said. “They also participated in the fundraisers we have, one being the Benefit Bowl in Cisco.”

Hise and Lee also represented the Albany Lions Club with personal appearances at other events.

“We sponsor them in the various parades we have, particularly the homecoming parade,” Skelton said.
