Churches to host special events

Local churches are making preparations for special Easter activities with a number of Holy Week programs in addition to Easter Sunday services.

Easter Sunday falls on April 17 this year.

Friendship Baptist Church will conduct its traditional flowering of the cross during Easter morning services at 10:55 a.m. An Easter egg hunt for children will follow worship services.

Trinity Lutheran Church will have a Maundy Thursday service at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 14 and a Good Friday service at 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 15. On Easter Sunday, a sunrise service will be held at 7:00 a.m. at the Lutheran Cemetery. Breakfast will be served at the church at 9:30 a.m. with Easter worship service at 10:30 a.m. An Easter egg hunt for children will he held after services.

First Christian Church will also host a Maundy Thursday service, starting at 7:00 p.m. on April 14. Everyone is welcome.

Officially sponsored by the Albany Ministerial Alliance, an Easter morning “Sonrise Service” will be hosted by members of the First Methodist Church at the Stasney Ranch Headquarters. The Methodist Women will serve breakfast at 7:00 a.m., followed by a brief service.
