Bulldog track teams compete at Cisco meet

The Moran Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs track and field teams both finished sixth in the team standings Thursday, March 10 at Cisco.
The girls team scored 35 points, while the boys totaled eight.
“We were the only 1A school at this meet and did well,” coach John Hughes said. “We had a lot of other coaches compliment the kids on their efforts.”
Hannah Noble posted Moran’s top finish, winning the 200 in addition to placing second in the 100.
Alli Scott was second in the high jump, third in the long jump and fifth in the 100 hurdles.
The 400 relay team of Scott, Noble, Emily Murk, and Alayna Baker finished sixth.
Also competing for the girls were Hannah Rogers (1600, shot put, and discus), Harmony Slaughter (1600, shot put and discus), Samantha Hinkle (shot put), Alyssa Allred (100 and 200), and Vivi Green (discus).
In the boys division, the 400 relay of Caleb York, Connor Hail, Tyler Waddell, and Arren Hawley finished fourth.
Also competing for the boys were Cotten Campbell and Riley Noble, both in the shot put and discus.
Moran athletes competed Saturday, March 19 at the PK Relays in Graham.
“We had five kids compete at this meet over the weekend and they did well,” Hughes said
In the girls division, Scott won the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles, as well as placing second in the long jump and third in the high jump.
Murk improved on her time in the 400, running 1:13, while Rogers improved on her time in the 1600, running 8:58.92, as well as competing in the discus.
For the boys, York ran 13.81 in the 100 and 28.95 in the 200. Ellis Hise ran 1:03.39 in the 400 and 2:56.98 in the 800.
Moran teams will compete at the Buckaroo Relays in Breckenridge on Saturday, March 26.
Monday’s junior high track meet at Gorman was cancelled due to conditions.
