A 4.5-hour meeting of the Shackelford County Hospital District’s board of directors on March 1 was conducted mostly in closed session, but there were a few action items during the evening.
Another meeting on Tuesday of this week was also behind closed doors, as the directors reviewed several applications for the district administrator’s position, which has been vacant since last June. No action was taken at the end of the March 8 session.
Employees Talk
During the district portion of the March 1 session, the board met individually with three EMS employees who had requested to be on the agenda, then later talked with five clinic workers, also individually, who were listed on the closed portion of the health clinic part of the meeting.
There was no action after either sesion was reopened to the public.
Other Business
•The final 2020 audit, which was presented as a “draft” in December by representatives of Condley and Company, was approved. There were no major issues encountered during the audit process, according to the report. The statement of revenues, expenses, and changes in net position is published in this issue.
•A COVID Return to Work Policy was adopted, stating that employees who test positive for COVID must stay home five days and follow other guidelines. Since there is no longer funding available for that purpose, employees must use PTO if they have no regular sick leave time, except for salaried employees.
