After seeing last week’s tournament wiped out by the weather, the Albany Lions tennis team doubled up with two events this week.

On Wednesday, March 2, an Albany meet pitted players from Albany, Breckenridge, Bronte, Highland, Stamford, and Winters in round robin competition.

Albany’s entries were Cason Fairchild in boys singles, Luke Ivy and Cooper Fairchild in boys doubles, Chelsy Parsons in girls singles, and the girls doubles pairs of Leddie Leech/Robyn Trail and Brooklyn Abbate/Cambree Clegg.

Results from Wednesday’s matches will be reported next week.

The remainder of the local players competed Friday and Saturday, March 4-5 at the Brock team tournament, which is something new for Albany.

In the team format, each school plays three boys doubles matches, three girls doubles matches and a mixed doubles match, followed by six boys and six girls singles matches. The first team to win 10 individual matches wins the team match.
