A new Junior FFA organization is being established in Moran for the 2021-2022 school year.

Moran FFA advisor and agricultural science teacher Minnie Denson will be heading up the program.

“Moran students who are eight years of age and in third grade to sixth grade will be eligible to join the Moran FFA chapter as junior members,” said MISD superintendent John Denson.

Denson also stated that students in grades seventh through 12th are eligible now for “active” membership.

“Junior members must meet all junior FFA membership requirements,” Denson explained. “The details are described in the Texas FFA Association Constitution and policies.”

According to the information, a junior member shall be considered in good standing when they:

•Show an interest in the affairs of the organization by attending junior member meetings;

•Pay local and state dues by the date determined by the chapter;

•Display conduct consistent with the ideals and purposes of the National FFA Organization and with the school district’s code of student conduct;

•Meet all other local standards and requirements described in this chapter’s bylaws and policies.

The junior membership year for the Moran chapter will begin on Aug. 1 and end on July 31 of each year.
