Pets parade around Bank Park

By Jillian Lucas

Animals of all kinds showed up for the annual Fandangle Pet Parade held at the Bank Park last weekend.

“I was pleasantly surprised at the turnout,” said parade co-organizer Madison Ratliff. “Without being able to hold a parade last year, we didn’t really know what to expect.”

Although there were only about half the number of entries of that in the 2019 parade, Ratliff considered it a success.

“We only had three pets pre-registered for the event,” she explained. “So we were very happy with the number of people that showed up to participate.”

Prizes were awarded in four categories and were provided by E-Z Feed.

Entrants strolled down the sidewalk of the Bank Park past the judges in their best Wild West attire.

The announcer was Pam Davis, and judges were Alli Graham, Debra Boyett, and Kirstin Hillard.

Pet Parade Winners

• Best Dressed – Bentley Bozak and Henry Ragan, labradoodles owned by Belinda and Claire Baldwin.

• Most Unique – Jane the Goat owned by the Nitschke family.

• Most Creative – Tillie the dog, owned by Baylie Nash.

• Best Fandangle Costume – Vertigo the pony owned by the Nitschke family.

“Thank you to the announcer, judges, and all participants,” said Ratliff. “We couldn’t have done it without you.”
